Lama Tsongkhapa stands as one of the greatest mystics in Buddhist history. The caves in Tibet where he made his long retreats and achieved deep realizations, such as those on Olkha Cholung, Rato and Ganden, still carry the sweet perfume of his enlightened presence. And the Golden Stupa Chamber in Ganden where his relics are housed are so rich in enlightenment energies that one can almost touch them with one's bare hands.
Tsongkhapa was also one of the greatest writers in Tibetan history. Most Westerners only know his more technical works, such as the Lam Rim Chenmo and Ngakrim Chenmo, for until now these are what have received the greatest attention from academics and translators. The many works that he wrote based on personal visions and dream revelations have until now received scant attention.
David Gonsalez has performed a wonderful service in rendering Tsongkhapa's visionary work on the White Chakrasamvara yogas into English. The translation is accurate, clear and elegant. I have no doubt that it will bring great benefits to future Western practitioners.Glenn H Mullin

The First and Final Chapters of the Heruka Root Tantra
These two chapters are the first and the final of the fifty-one chapters from the condensed Root Tantra of Chakrasamvara. There are two other longer Tantras that have not been translated into Tibetan. It has become a tradition to recite the first and last chapters daily as it is said that one then gets the benefit of having recited the entire fifty-one chapters of the Root Tantra. Most serious Heruka practitioners recite these two chapters everyday. It is my wish that this tradition will be accepted into our western culture so that we may all come under the care of Glorious Guru Heruka.
